Haiti - Kenscoff : At least 3 police officers injured and an armored vehicle set on fire

On Friday, August 7, 2026, in the commune of Kenscoff, specifically in the Viard 2 area, law enforcement officers attempting to repel an attack by heavily armed terrorists from the "Viv Ansanm" criminal coalition encountered difficulties and issued an urgent request for reinforcements due to the intensity of the clashes. During the exchange of fire, three police officers were wounded, and an armored vehicle, targeted by Molotov cocktails, was set ablaze.

Soldiers from the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) based in Kenscoff were dispatched to the scene, along with members of the local vigilante group, to assist the officers in distress, regain control of the area, and attempt to restore order.

Faced with this new outbreak of violence, the mayor of Kenscoff, Massillon Jean, called for increased security operations to allow authorities to regain control of the commune.
