Serge Gabriel Collin, Minister of Economy and Finance, and James Monazard, Minister of Commerce and Industry, on the recommendation of the Petroleum Market Monitoring Advisory Council (CCSMP), hereby inform the general public, and importers, distributors, and consumers of petroleum products in particular, that the pump prices in effect throughout the national territory are now set as follows:

Gasoline :

Previous price 650 Gourdes + 50 Gourdes; new current price 700 Gourdes;

Diesel :

Previous price 700 Gourdes + 70 Gourdes; new current price 770 Gourdes;

Kerosene :

Previous price 690 Gourdes +75 Gourdes. New price: 765 Gourdes.

The Petroleum Market Monitoring Advisory Council (CCSMP) is informing the public of its explanatory note regarding the proposed gradual and socially responsible readjustment of petroleum product prices. This initiative follows the review of the July 29, 2026, petroleum product shipments and is part of an approach based on transparency, institutional responsibility, and consideration of the population's socio-economic realities.

Through this publication, the CCSMP aims to contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms governing the evolution of petroleum product prices and the considerations that guided its opinion.

Beyond the technical data, the CCSMP believes that petroleum product pricing cannot be approached solely from an accounting and budgetary perspective. Any fluctuation in fuel prices directly impacts the daily lives of the population : transportation costs, food prices, the operation of small businesses, agriculture, commerce, production, and access to essential services.

This reality is particularly significant in the current context, where many families are already suffering the consequences of insecurity, population displacement, decreased income, unemployment, and eroded purchasing power. Immediate implementation of the full calculated real prices would therefore risk exacerbating the economic and social vulnerability of households.

He therefore recommends setting the price of a gallon of gasoline at 700 gourdes (calculated real cost 879.22 gourdes); diesel at 770 gourdes (calculated real cost 861.39 gourdes); and kerosene at 765 gourdes (calculated real cost 788.87 gourdes).

This proposal represents an economic and social compromise: it aims to gradually reduce the revenue shortfall borne by the State without immediately passing the entire difference on to consumers. The Council believes that the need to preserve public finances must go hand in hand with protecting purchasing power and preserving social cohesion.

Furthermore, in a memo, the Northeast Departmental Directorate of Commerce and Industry advises and reiterates : "When fuel prices increase illegally, it doesn’t just affect people filling up their vehicles. Transportation, food, goods, services, and the entire economy suffer.

We should never have reached a point where an illegal practice has become so widespread that the population has begun to consider it normal, right under the noses of the relevant authorities.

When the State sets a price, that price must be respected” If an operator charges higher prices, they must be able to provide a legal basis for it. Extraordinary expenses, security issues, or other difficulties in the distribution chain must be rigorously investigated.

The Northeast Department of Commerce and Industry will not tolerate price gouging at the expense of the public, nor will it tolerate abuses against consumers.

We urge the public not to accept illegality as normal. When a violation occurs, we must report it and file an official complaint when there is a genuine problem.

The Northeast Department of Commerce and Industry is once again requesting the cooperation of all other relevant bodies to ensure that consumer rights are respected. For this reason, it will resume inspections at all service stations and enforce the law accordingly."
