Meeting between the Prime Minister and Cardinal Chibly Langlois
On Thursday, August 13, 2026, during an official visit to the South Department, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met with His Eminence Cardinal Chibly Langlois, Bishop of Les Cayes.
This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss several issues of national interest, particularly the essential role played by the Catholic Church, alongside other religious denominations, in social life and in the search for lasting solutions to the challenges facing the country.
Through this initiative, Fils-Aimé intends to reaffirm the importance of dialogue with religious leaders and the various stakeholders in the nation, whose contribution remains invaluable in promoting peace, social cohesion, living together, and solidarity among all Haitians.
In a context marked by numerous challenges, the Prime Minister also issued a call for unity, responsibility, and collective commitment. He called on all Haitians, wherever they may be, to join forces to forge a new national narrative, founded on hope, confidence, dignity, and the Haitian people's capacity to build a better future.
