Haiti - FLASH : Draw for campaign numbers assigned to political parties and groups (List)

On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) held a draw to assign campaign numbers to the registered political parties and groups eligible to participate in the upcoming elections. The draw took place in the presence of Council members, the Director General of the CEP, the Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights, representatives of political parties and groups, national and international partners, media representatives, and CEP staff.

In his welcoming address, Jacques Desrosiers, President of the CEP, emphasized that this election represents a decisive moment for the Haitian people, who yearn for a renewal of the country's governance after more than a decade of crises.

He took the opportunity to reaffirm the CEP's commitment to guaranteeing a fair, impartial, transparent, and equal-treatment electoral process, in order to provide all political parties with a free, fair, and neutral playing field.

For her part, Councilor Yves Marie Edouard presented the procedures for the random draw, which will assign a campaign number to each of the 88 registered political parties and 17 political groups.

The operation was carried out using two separate drums : the first containing the names of the political parties and the second, the numbers to be assigned to them. Each political entity was thus randomly and transparently associated with a campaign number.

The random draw took place in a calm, transparent, and favorable atmosphere for all participants. The presence of the various stakeholders contributed to strengthening the credibility and transparency of this stage of the electoral process.

In his closing remarks, Uder Antoine, the Director General of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), thanked the representatives of the political parties and groups, as well as the national and international partners, for their presence and collaboration. He also reminded everyone that the candidate registration period begins on August 20, 2026.
