Haiti - Politic : National Assembly to ratify international agreements

Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate, announced last Friday that the National Assembly will meet in regular session tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31, to work on eight international agreements and conventions for their eventual ratification.

"...Tuesday, January 31 we will have a National Assembly of the regular session, in which we will work on the Treaty of The Hague, on the United Nations conventions on social and economic rights, we will also work on the convention on cluster munitions [...] so they are treated and conventions that have a humanitarian character which we consider important [...] is why we will do our first National Assembly Tuesday 31 at eleven o'clock and we invite all our colleagues deputies and senators to participate.

We have a bicameral Commission ad hoc which is already formed [...] that will work the whole weekend to produce a report on these treaties, agreements and conventions for Tuesday, we can ratify or not, following the recommendations of this Commission."
