Terror in Saint-Michel-de-l’Attalaye

Assassination of J. Moïse : New suspect charged in the US

On Monday, September 14, 2026, federal prosecutors in Miami formally charged Rafael Guerrero, a resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida. During his initial court appearance, he pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiring to launch a military expedition against a friendly nation from within the United States. Prosecutors allege, among other things, that he participated in meetings regarding plans to forcibly overthrow Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and install Sanon in power. He is also accused of taking part in meetings concerning the purchase of weapons and ammunition for former Colombian soldiers and of participating in efforts to illegally ship body armor and other equipment to Haiti. He was released on $150,000 bail pending his jury trial, scheduled for November 2026.

Substandard Fuel

Pétrus Lerice, an administrator for the Haitian Land Transport Sector (STTH) platform, has denounced the sale of "bad fuel" to motorists, alleging that it damages engines. He deems the authorities' silence "unacceptable" and calls on the Petroleum Advisory Council to speak out, describing it as outrageous that poor-quality fuel is being sold from terminals.

2026 Caribbean Cup : Flawless run for the "Old Tiger"

On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as part of the 2026 Caribbean Cup, Violette AC faced Club Sando (Trinidad and Tobago) at the Cibao Stadium in the Dominican Republic. New U.S. Ambassador to Haiti

The White House announced that on September 14, 2026, President Donald Trump appointed Austin Holmes—a Florida native—as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Haiti. He replaces Dennis B. Hankins. The direct transition involves Henry Wooster, who had been designated Chargé d’Affaires to lead the embassy on an interim basis following Ambassador Hankins' departure.
