Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Carla Barnett, Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), have signed the Multilateral Air Services Agreement (MASA).

This signing marks a significant milestone in strengthening Haiti’s integration within the Caribbean region and opens up new prospects for air connectivity, regional mobility, and cooperation.

Through the MASA, Haiti aims to facilitate the establishment of new air links with Caribbean states, foster the movement of people and goods, support tourism and trade, and contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of air transport.

The Prime Minister emphasized that overcoming Haiti’s isolation is a strategic priority, particularly for stimulating economic activity, creating new business opportunities, and strengthening ties between the Haitian people and other peoples of the Caribbean.

The signing of the MASA also aligns with the Government's commitment to enhancing aviation safety and security through better harmonization with international standards and the sharing of expertise at the regional level.

By strengthening its connectivity, Haiti intends to better leverage its position at the heart of the Caribbean and contribute fully to building a more integrated, accessible, and dynamic regional space.
