FLASH : New Executive Committee at the Head of the Provisional Electoral Council

A new executive committee has been installed at the head of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). This new structure is composed of Peterson Pierre Louis : President, Jaccéus Joseph : Vice-President, Nemrond Sanon : Secretary General and Schnaïda Adély : Treasurer. This installation comes as the institution continues preparations for the organization of the next elections, scheduled for December 13, 2026.

UN : Accelerate the Deployment of the GSF

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé met with António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations. Discussions focused in particular on the need to accelerate the effective deployment of the Gangs Supression Force (GSF) in order to strengthen national capacities to combat armed groups. The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of an approach combining security, justice, disarmament, reintegration, and the creation of opportunities for young people, particularly through the implementation of the Peace Dividend Fund.

Terrorists retreat in Gressier

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, during operations against terrorist groups in the commune of Gressier, an operation that mobilized several specialized units of the Haitian National Police (PNH), three terrorists were fatally wounded in exchanges of fire with law enforcement. Several other wounded individuals fled. Police seized an M14, an M16, and a Galil rifle and regained control of several areas in the commune.

The PM at the UN

Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé will address the United Nations General Assembly this Friday, September 25. In his address, he will present Haiti's priorities in the face of the current crisis, including security, strengthening national forces, combating transnational crime, and restoring democratic order. He will also discuss the efforts underway to organize the upcoming elections, as well as the challenges related to youth, employment, investment, and economic development. The Prime Minister will conclude by appealing to the international community for a renewed partnership with Haiti, based on solidarity, responsibility, and respect for national sovereignty.

CCIO Exchanges with GSF

The West Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIO) hosted an information session on the Gang Supression Force (GSF), attended by representatives from the private sector and business associations. Jack Christofides, FRG Special Representative in Haiti, presented the mandate, objectives, and operational procedures of this new international force. The discussions allowed participants to share the private sector's main concerns regarding the security challenges affecting businesses, jobs, and economic activity. This meeting marks the beginning of a series of regular exchanges between the GSF and the Haitian private sector.

Donation of 250 Tablets

A delegation from the Ministry of National Education, led by Onsy Jean Mari, Director General of the Ministry, officially presented a donation of 250 tablets as part of the "Education for a Common Future" project, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO and Expertise France. Through this initiative, the project partners intend to contribute to strengthening the technological resources available in the education sector. The provision of these 250 tablets aims in particular to facilitate access to digital tools and to support teaching and learning activities.
