Haiti - Kenscoff : Call for solidarity to rehabilitate access roads

In light of the difficulties affecting access routes to Kenscoff, Mayor Massillon Jean is calling on the entire population to mobilize and contribute, each according to their means, to the rehabilitation of the routes essential for ongoing operations, traffic flow, and the gradual resumption of normal life in the affected areas.

The municipal administration is requesting contributions of equipment from the public, specifically: shovels, pickaxes, wheelbarrows, crowbars, rakes, and any other tools that could facilitate the work. Farmers, truck drivers, contractors, business owners, CBOs, young people, local authorities, and citizens from all communal sections : every shovel counts; every pickaxe counts; every truck counts; every half-day of work counts; every contribution counts.

An appeal is also being made to truck drivers in Kenscoff and surrounding areas. "We ask them, to the extent possible, to dedicate at least half a day to hauling fill material to help restore priority roads."

Community-based organizations (CBOs) are also invited to mobilize their members and participate in community work.

Local authorities in the communal sections—including CASEC and ASEC members, city delegates, and other community leaders—are called upon to join forces, support the mobilization effort, and identify priority needs in their respective areas.

This collective mobilization is part of a broader goal: enabling security forces to continue their operations, facilitating the consolidation of areas that have been cleared, and gradually creating the conditions necessary for residents who were forced to leave their homes to return to their neighborhoods.

"We must work together to ensure that areas occupied by armed groups can be liberated, that access routes are restored, and that displaced families can—once security conditions allow—return to their homes, their land, and their community."

"ENSCOFF NEEDS ALL ITS LIVING FORCES :

Se ansanm, nan inite ak solidarity, n ap rebuilt aksè Kenskòf yo epi prepare kondisyon pou pèp la tounen lakay li. (Kenscoff Town Hall)

For unity, solidarity and continuity of operations."
