Ernst Muscadin candidate for president

Wednesday September 30, 2026, Jean Ernst Muscadin, the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Miragoâne alias "The Gang Hunter" officially registered as a candidate for the Presidency of Haiti under the banner of the Fòs Chanjman Nasyonal Party (FCN). Remember that Muscadin is involved in 28 summary or extrajudicial executions of suspected bandits, according to reports from human rights organizations and the United Nations.

2026-2027 budget up by 56 billion

The Council of Ministers, held on Wednesday September 30, 2026 at the Prime Minister's Office, adopted the budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, estimated at 401 billion gourdes. An increase of + 16.2% (+ 56 billion HTG) compared to the previous initial budget 2025-2026. This budget increase aims primarily to support the transition plan, with top priority given to the restoration of public security, economic recovery and institutional reforms.
