Haiti - NOTICE : Final Tax Declaration and New Tax Code

The General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) informs the general public, specifically civil servants, private-sector employees, and Haitian staff of international organizations who are liable for income ta, that the statutory period for filing final income tax returns runs from October 1st, 2026, to January 31, 2027.

To facilitate this process, the DGI encourages taxpayers to submit their final returns for the 2025–2026 fiscal year within the legal timeframe at one of its various offices. Employees of the private sector, international organizations, or non-governmental organizations may file their returns at the tax office responsible for their respective institution’s tax files; civil servants, meanwhile, should file at the tax office nearest to them.

Furthermore, the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) wishes to remind those liable for tax that the income tax scale in effect prior to the enactment of the new Tax Code remains applicable to income earned during the 2025–2026 fiscal year, in accordance with the legal principle of the non-retroactivity of laws. Tax scale currently in effect for calculating Income Tax for the 2025-2026 fiscal year :

1.00 to 60,000 Gdes: 0%

60,001 to 240,000 Gourdes: 10%

240,001 to 480,000 Gourdes: 15%

480,001 to 1,000,000 Gourdes: 25%

1,000,000 Gourdes and above: 30%

The General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) urges taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations within the prescribed timeframe to avoid the surcharges stipulated by the governing legislation.
