Haiti - Economy : Important meeting with industrials of Dominican Republic
Me Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior and Local Authorities of Haiti, met Thursday with key industry leaders of Dominican Republic to explore business opportunities existing in Haiti.

The Minister has informed the Dominicans industrials, that President Michel Martelly wanted to turn Haiti into a nation socially just, politically independent, with a free economy, decentralized and sustainable. His administration is seeking to create a legal space guaranteeing the democratic governance and the rule of law to provide the best conditions for investors.

The President of the company "Productos Quimicos Industriales", Jaime Malla stated that this meeting was very productive "I think it's like a platform, these steps are highly significant. »

For his part, the Minister Mayard Paul expressed his satisfaction with the positive attitude of businessmen compared to the vision of President Martelly to achieve sustainable development in Haiti. "Businessmen from Dominican Republic were able to appreciate, visually, our will to grow from a free market economy and through a decentralization plan based on job creation, not only in Port-au-Prince, but especially in our cities of province."

The businessmen applauded the decision of President Martelly to work to establish a rule of law by ensuring optimum conditions for investment that will strengthen the political and institutional stability.

Meanwhile, they made an exhaustive list of prerequisites of their companies face the situation in Haiti, points noted carefully by the Minister Mayard Paul. Moreover, Ricardo Arostegui, Chairman of the Board of the company "Fabrica de Refrigeradores Comerciales", "Fogel Fogel and Immobiliaria Dominicana", indicated : "Everything that was said is perfect and I think they have been able to show several points to modify to improve trade between the two countries and bring more trade, a very good initiative."

The Minister Mayard Paul and Industrial agreed to keep open communication and enhance cooperation in the coming months.
