Haiti - Education : The World Bank continues its involvement in education
This week the new Vice President of the World Bank, Hasan Tuluy, in Haiti for a 3-days visit, went to primary school Milome Brillère located at Delmas 33, school that is exempt from tuition fees under the Education for All project funded by the World Bank (WB)

On this occasion, Mr. Tuluy declared about the free education program of the WB that touches 285,000 children and 200,000 through school canteens since 2007, through 1.200 schools in the country "...Today we are here because we believe that the future of a society is through the investments we made ​​in our children. As you know we made a first phase with our colleagues IDB [$38 million], the Canadian cooperation... now we come to the second phase, we draw lessons from the success of this first phase to launch a second program, a relatively significant program [$70 million] where not only us Bank Group we continue to give our support, but also the enthusiasm of our other development partners will also be able to contribute to this fund. We hope that through this if I'm not mistaken, 275.000 children will benefit from access to school..."

"...we are not only very pleased, very happy but we are proud to be able [...] to support the program of free education, where we can the school canteens, in order to build a strong foundation for the future generations for Haiti..." added the Vice-President of the World Bank.
