Haiti - Social : Michaëlle Jean regrets the cancellation of the closing ceremonies of the Forum of Haitian women
Michaëlle Jean, the UNESCO Special Envoy for Haiti, regrets that the climate of psychosis caused yesterday in the capital [HL: Following the statements of Senator Joseph Lambert] has forced the cancellation of the closing ceremony of the National Forum on the issue of Haitian women, on the occasion of celebrations of international Women's Day. She wanted to salute the courage and the initiatives of Haitian women, who throughout the country, by the hard work and invaluable of their associations, businesses, groups and organizations, participate in providing solutions to problems that plague all Haiti.

"The citizens of this country are at the heart of living forces, guarantee of itsrefoundation and rebirth." The Special Envoy of UNESCO welcomes the work done right now with the gathering Éduc'2012. This massive mobilization in favor of education is conducted by mutual agreement and in a spirit of partnership by the Groupe de réflexion et d'action pour une Haïti nouvelle (GRAHN) and the Ministry of Education and Training professional (MENFP). It put on capacity building, of knowledge and skills in rallying the will to act of Haitians at home and abroad, with the backing and the cooperation of supportive partners within the international community.

Michaëlle Jean, who was in the capital from March 6 to 9, wishes to express its satisfaction following the working sessions dynamic and constructive she has had in recent days with the President Michel Martelly, the members of his cabinet, the Secretary of State for Higher Education, representatives from MENFP and of academic sector of Haiti, Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.

"We are determined that all necessary actions are taken so that in Haiti, executives of the state while passing by the younger students, can enjoy infrastructures, of programs and content of quality in the perspective of the needs and national objectives," declared Ms. Jean.
