Last Monday, François Guillaume II, the Consul General of Haiti in Miami, presented to the press, at Little Haiti Cultural Center a portion of his staff and made ​​known the actions and projects to which he intends to give priority.

During this press conference, the Consul General, has indicated its intention to strengthen relations between the Consulate and the Press and improve the service to the customers, one of the most important points of its management. Asserting that "the Consulate will do its best to find ways to provide sustainable solutions to difficulties faced by our countrymen and renews its commitment to carry out its task with rigor and responsibility."

The renovation of its offices and the opening of a satellite office in West Palm Beach, are short-term projects planned by the Consul General, in an effort to provide local services and of quality to the compatriots of Miami. François Guillaume II has also placed emphasis on the necessity of a closer collaboration with the office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Protection of Departement of Homeland Security on the follow of case of Haitian detainees, face to heir prolonged detention.

Regarding the new direction of the Haitian diplomacy "a Business Diplomacy" advocated by Laurent Lamothe, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Consul General emphasized on new strategies to be adopted by the Mission to identify the investors in the Haitian Diaspora and foreign investors in order to guide them to Haiti.

Recall that in this framework, the Consulate of Haiti in Miami was the first of the 41 Haitian consulates around the world, to lead a trade mission in Haiti in January 2012.
