Haiti - Education : Computer courses for youth of Gressier and Léogâne
The Korean contingent of the Minustah based in Léogâne, will provide computer courses to young of Gressier and Léogâne in a new computer lab recently inaugurated. This laboratory at a cost estimated at ± U.S. $ 40.000 is equipped of 17 new laptops, a projector and a big screen TV. According to Colonel Lee Hoo Hong, Commander of the company ROKENGCOY based in Léogâne, this project is fully supported by the South Korean peacekeepers.

In these courses, students will study basic computer concepts and learn to use office software. Each month, students will be evaluated and the the most meritorious student, at the end of the session, will receive in reward of its work, a laptop computer. South Korean teachers, will give these courses, every Saturday, from 1pm to 5pm from 7 April until September 2012.

According to Colonel Lee Hong Hoo, the Korean contingent that he heads, want to share with Haitian youth, its computer skills. The Colonel has indicated that an agreement will be signed shortly with Réginald Paul, the Minister of Education, so that a diploma is assigned to each session and can be given to the students.
