Haiti - Politic : The President Felipe Calderón in Haiti this Thursday

The Chancellor Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister-designate, announces that the Mexican President Felipe Calderón will be in Haiti this Thursday, April 12, following the official invitation of President Martelly. The Chief of the Haitian state, currently recovering in Miami, will be back in haïti to welcome in person his Mexican counterpart.

This visit of Mexican President at the head of a large delegation, is part of evelopment of the cooperation and of strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries. "he will enter in Haïti with a large delegation of high level [including among others : the First Lady of Mexico, Chancellor Patricia Espinosa, Minister of Energy and about 12 other ministers]. [...] This visit is the result of work which is done for several months with Mexico.

[...] I wanted to announce this visit, because this is the first time that a Mexican president comes to Haiti. It will also be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen and Mexican investors, including Carlos Slim, the richest man in the world [his fortune is estimated at $69 billion] which comes within the framework of work and assistance that his Foundation brings to Haiti. He also comes to see what Haiti can bring to its companies, Telmex and America Mobile, one of the largest telecommunications company in the world [...]"
