Haiti - Politic : First speculations on the ratification vote in the lower house...
At about 3 weeks of the ratification vote of the Prime Minister-designate, while the Commission of the Lower House, responsible for examining the documents of Laurent Lamothe should be put in place this week, our dear deputies are already speculating...

For the Deputy Abel Descolines (Mirebalais/Boucan Carré / LAVNI) "[...] There are colleagues who want the issue of the ratification takes time, and another trend that wants things done quickly to allow the country to have a new government. The group that makes maneuvers, so that the thing takes time, [...] wants that the Senate of the Republic is freed from 10 senators [end of mandate] and hope that from there they will be capable to be more influencing in negotiations or in the sharing of responsibilities..."

For his part, the Deputy Guy Gérad Georges (Torbeck / Chantal / INITE), wants to personally examine the documents of Prime Minister-designate before deciding "...I know Mr. Lamothe as Foreign Minister, as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I worked with him I know he has a passion for work, but that does not mean that because you was Foreign Minister, you are automatically qualified [to be Prime Minister]. Today, we must analyze the documents and myself, as an Deputy I expect not only that the Commission analyzes the documents, but that they are in my hands. From there, I might decide on the finality of my vote [...] in a large part it's technical, but let's not forget that we are a political assembly, therefore, in a political assembly there is always a mixture that can be done, but I will say at 90% it is technical..."

The Deputy and Pastor Sadrac Dieudonné (Gonaïves / MOCHRENHA) does not agree with the candidacy of Laurent Lamothe "...I think Mr. Lamothe did not really meet the criteria for becoming Prime Minister [...] the reason is very political, my disagreement is that Mr. Lamothe is one of the ministers who rebelled against Mr. Conille..."

As for Senator Joseph Lambert he is optimistic about the vote of ratification of the Chamber and even makes a prediction, recalling that "[...] My primary motivation is to give the country a new government so that we go towards a sharing of responsibilities. We believe that the deputies will follow suit with the senators and make sure that as soon as possible, the country can have a new government. Of course Mr. Lamothe will pass with a minimum of 62 votes for..."
