Haiti - Social : News of the week of the Diaspora 19/04/2012 12:28:59 The Panel was composed of MM. Dieuseul Simon Desras, Senate President ; Francisco De Lacruz, Senator Central Plateau ; Mackendy Tout-puissant,municipal councilor of the town of Pantin, Region Ile de France ; Jean–Baptiste Monestime, commissioner to Miami dade County, First Haitian elected to this position ; Guy Gérard Georges President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Cults and Haitians living abroad ; Fredly Georges, deputy of the constituency of Pétion-ville and finally Luc Mervil, moderator. In his speech, the Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Senate, urged his compatriots, including members of the diaspora, to make of Haiti a new world, green and prosperous, considering that it is time to coordinate the efforts of Haitians both inside that outside the country. For his part, the deputy Fredely Georges [constituency of Petion-ville] is committed to working in parliament to change the persistent tendency which makes of the Haitians living abroad "ATM Machin", that is to say, of money providers. Senator Francisco de la Cruz [Central Plateau] and the Deputy Guy Gérard Georges have invited the members of the diaspora, to put pressure on the Haitian State to obtain and have the respect of their political rights. For their part, politicians from abroad of Haitian origin struggling for their acceptance and the recognition of their political rights, even if only at certain positions. The municipal councilor of the town of Pantin, Mackendy Tout-Puissant wishes the full citizenship which includes rights and duties for the compatriots, having acquired a foreign nationality. To MONTREAL, as part of the "National Day of the Diaspora," the Group DP Consultations and its partners associates, including the Foundation Crudem, Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Granh-Monde, and the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal, are proud to work together on the second edition of Cocktail Exhibition of Group DP Consultations which will be held Friday, April 20, 2012, from 6pm to 10pm, to the Governor Hotel, 1415 Rue St. Hubert in Montreal. Several personalities of the Haitian diaspora of Montreal will take part and participates including : the President of Grahn-Monde, M. For Jean David Prophète, the objective of this event is to promote the Haitian art abroad and bring to light the wealth of arts of Haiti. Therefore, this activity appears to be an ideal opportunity that is offred o the arts sector of the country to make know the extent of the creations of our artists and also a great opportunity for these artisans to promote their business to potential development partners participating in the first lodge in this new edition. To CHICAGO the Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti recalls that the diaspora has always contributed immeasurably to the survival of Haiti. Today, more than ever, the diaspora should participate actively in the process of rebuilding a new Haiti, it is above all and after all, the future of our beloved country. The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago will intervene Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 6:00 pm on the airwaves of "Radio Haiti Internationale" (1590 AM or ww.1590haiti.com) to address a subject entitled "The participation of the Diaspora in the reconstruction of Haiti, an inevitable fact". In FLORIDA, the Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando, invites the Haitian community of its jurisdiction and that of Florida in particular to a special event "Unity in Diversity" on April 21, 2012 in celebration of the Day of the Haitian Diaspora. An initiative of the Consulate of the Republic of Haiti in Orlando in honor of our Diaspora, will gather Religious Authorities, Leaders and Members of the Haitian community in the region to an evening of prayers and reflection on the powerful role of Unity in strengthening and empowering our community as well as the bonds between its Members beyond individual interests. Members of the Senate of Haiti and Ms. Melky Jean, sister of Wyclef Jean will participate in this event to be held in the Church "The End Sabbath Worship Center" at 6:00pm at the following address 2150 Brengle Ave. Orlando, FL 32808. In ATLANTA the 2012 Socio Economic Summit’s (HDSS), overriding aim is to gather concerned Haitians in the Diaspora, to create a platform to come together to work on specific projects for the development and progress of Haiti. The Summit will also broaden the scope of interaction between Haitians and help realize their common interests as people, as Haitians, as a nation for Haiti.
