The Caisse d'Assistance Sociale (CAS) received a lot of material offered by the Association of Volunteer Firemen of Haiti (ASPOVH). Firefighters left their bases of Carrefour, Croix-des-Bouquets and Cap-Haitien to personally deliver various materials to the administrative staff of CAS [dozens of crutches, a dozen wheelchairs, devices to facilitate walking, tanks water purifiers as well as lots of drugs] expressing in this gesture, their willingness to contribute to the improvement of living conditions of most vulnerable.

"We have 435 volunteers across the country and we are trained to serve and come to the aid of the population," explained Pierre Frandy, Chief Fire Brigade Volunteers of the Croix-des Bouquets. "We need to put our efforts together to take more effective action tomore effective action to the benefit of those who need support," added Hebert Laurent of the base of Carrefour.

For the CAS, it is a first step towards a collaboration that will continue in many other areas including the ASPOVH interventions in case of major natural events. The tanks, water purifiers will be installed in the Restoration Community centers of the CAS and in several areas of the country where the institution operates, especially in the Plaine de l’Arbre in Upper Artibonite. The CAS take this opportunity to thank the Association of Volunteer Firemen of Haiti, and invites other institutions both private and public to follow this great example of solidarity.
