Haiti - Atlanta : 209th anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag 15/05/2012 12:22:29
The Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta informs the Haitian Community of the State of Georgia of its full support and frank cooperation with GHAA, MOI, Open Hands Orphanage, HOPE, and Haitian Alliance, all of organizations working for the success of the celebration of National Flag Day to be held in Lawrenceville Sunday, May 20, 2012, from 3:30 pm. A parade will depart from 188 Pike Street, Lawrenceville to end in Rhodes Jordan Park 100 East Crogan Street where personalities such : that Cerrand Laverdure and Jean Claude Etienne, will retrace the history of the flag and talk about the meaning of our emblem. A rich and varied program will be offered to you for this celebration : Haitian and American national anthem, prayers, folk dances and traditional songs Haitian recital of poems, through stories, all preceded by the words of welcome and official speeches of the Consul General, Mr. Thomas Gandy, Mayor Judy Jordan, in a festive atmosphere animated by the band Focus. During this celebration, will be awarded the Prize, to the winners of the drawing competition organized by the Consulate. The Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta relies on each of Haitians taking cognizance of this press release to spread the message to other community members. The Consulate thank you already for your participation in this ceremony which will edify, once again, the other citizens of Georgia to our motto: "L'Union fait la Force (Unity is Strength)".
