Haiti - Social : The employees are protesting to the DGI of Petit-Goâve...

Wednesday, several employees of the office of the General Tax Directorate (DGI) of Petit-Goâve protested, while performing their tasks. They blame the poor functioning of the DGI and the deplorable physical condition of the building of this regional office, with walls cracked by the earthquake of January 12, 2010. They demanded among other things, better working conditions, a salary adjustment, new appointments to vacant posts and rehabilitation of the building.

Moreover, they went after Yonel Saint-Germain, Director of the Office of the DGI, they accuse of being responsible for the malfunction of this office, up to wish his departure.

Asked about the charges against him, the Director Saint-Germain, described this group of employees of "lazy and latecomers" who behave as they wish. "They are in rebellion against me, because I constrain them to work from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, comply with regulations of the institution... They are of bad faith [...] I will not give, I recognize that there are some infrastructure problems, But while waiting for the building is renovated and that we resume other services, all employees must complete their duties properly..."
