The President Michel Joseph Martelly, spoke on the phone, on the evening of Wednesday, May 22, with the elected Head of State of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina, some 48 hours after his victory the first ballot, Sunday, May 20, 2012.

During this conversation, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, the President Martelly personally sent his words of congratulations to the new President of Dominican Republic, to which he reaffirmed his commitment to continue the cordial relations that characterize the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

While considering the opportunity to meet soon in Haiti, the two politicians have promised on this occasion to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the two States for the benefit of peoples sharing the island.
