Haiti - Sports : Haiti will participate in the 2012 Olympics in London
For now, 5 Haitian athletes, 1 in judo and 4 in athletics, have their ticket in hand for the 2012 Olympics to be held this year in London, from July 27 to August 12.

In Judo, our sole ambassador, will the young capoise, Linouse Desravines, born February 10, 1991, in the 52 kg category. Linouse intends to show his opponents, that the victory is not gained to them, even if she is aware that to win a medal, she will have hard battles to fight in light of its potential opponents...

In athletics, Moïse Joseph (800 m), Marleine Wesh (400 m) Jeffrey Julmis (110 m/hurdles) and Samyr Laine (triple jump) are currently the only qualified. Four other Haitian hopes Jonathan Juin (400m/hurdles), Josué Louis (decathlon), Pascale Delaunay (triple jump) and Roody Monrose (100 m and 200 m) are still in the race of qualifications which ends July 15.

Alain Jean Pierre, the President of the Haitian Federation of Amateur Athletics (FAA) announced that on May 29, Haitian athletes will travel to France to attend a training camp and participate in several European competitions of qualification for the London Games. They will be supported by the Franco-American coach, Emmanuel Jackson.

Unfortunately Haiti has not been able to qualify in boxing, weightlifting, taekwondo and football for the 30th Olympiad in London.
