Haiti - Culture : Official launch of the National Institute of Music of Haiti 13/06/2012 12:39:23 This project aims to find and mentor the children of underprivileged and vulnerable groups by providing access to a strong academic background and musical to make them responsible citizens, emancipated, able to serve as models, not only to our youth, but to all their countrymen of all ages. As noted by Mr. Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture "our culture is rich, and our music is one of its manifestations among the most accessible and most intense. Encourage children to thrive by practicing music is one of the surest ways to give them confidence and make them respectable citizens." Ms. Arielle Villedrouin, Director of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR), has emphasized on the importance accorded by the President Martelly and his administration, to youth and, especially, to children. She feels strongly that the INAMUH will contribute, significantly, to guide the Haitian youth towards an ideal of nobility. The INAMUH, an initiative of President Martelly, will be housed in the town of Dopalais, to Pandiassou, in the town of Hinche in the Central Department, on a large property of over 25 acres of land made available by the brother Franklin Armand, founder of the Brotherhood of the Incarnation. As highlighted the masters of ceremony, Clarens Renois and Elisabeth Alphonse, during their presentation, the INAMUH will establish a Symphony Orchestra Pre-child, a Symphony Orchestra infantile, a Juvenile Symphony Orchestra, a National Symphony Orchestra as well as a Choir Infantile and a Juvenile Choir. Pilot project, it is expected to extend to all departments of the country where it will have to create Infantiles and Juvenile Orchestras and Choirs. The INAMUH will have also to develop cores through the system of national schools and national high school. The Petite Chorale, a youth choir led by Mr. Rich Richard, accompanied by singers from Haïti Spectacle, offered a surprising interpretation of the Dessalinnienne. The Head of State expressed his desire to see materialize the project of the INAMUH for the development of youth and our society. He also emphasized of the importance that have the musical training that the youth program participants will receive, for their emancipation and integration into society. Mr. Andres Gonzalez, Venezuelan Delegate of Program "El Sistema", which serves as a model to the project of the INAMUH, wished to thank the President Martelly of having wished to associate it, as well as the Maestro Jose Antonio Abreu, to this initiative. He also stressed the positive impact that such a program can have on the future and the personality of children who thus learn to express themselves and become true creators. He also renewed the will of the Venezuelan government to provide support to this project. The ceremony was concluded by the performance of young of quartet Libertadores of Venezuela, who have shown professionalism and great technical expertise and have charmed the audience by interpreting, in a masterly way, our "Choucoune".
