Haiti - Politic : Installation of new Secretary of State for Literacy

Réginald Paul, the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) has proceeded yesterday at the Secretariat of State, in the presence of MPs and various officers and employees of the Ministry, to the installation of new Secretary of State for Literacy, Mr. Oswald Thimoléon, which replaces in this position, Ms. Milaine Alexandre.

While recalling that education remains a priority for the state and it is time that all Haitians can read and write, Réginald Paul invited the new Secretary of State to take all necessary steps to continue with the literacy program "We ask the cooperation of all office employees to accompany the Secretary of State in its mission. It is necessary that everyone to play its role in order to achieve the actions of the institution."

Recall that the Government, provides that 5 million Haitians should be literate in the coming years, as part of tripartite cooperation Haiti-Cuba-Venezuela.

For his part, the new Secretary of State, who recognizes the importance of the challenges he will have to face, promised to work tirelessly to fulfill its mission with dignity "I agreed to serve the country with pleasure and I thank Mrs. Martelly and Lamothe of their confidence [...] I pledge my full cooperation to MENFP to carry out ongoing programs."
