On June 19, 2012 n Albany, Mr. Charles A. Forbin, Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in New York, attended the session of the Legislature of the State of New York, during which the resolution proclaiming the month of June, "Caribbean-American Heritage Month", was adopted.

The members of the Legislature of the Caribbean countries, hosted a reception in honor of the Consul General, who, in his message of thanks, invited, for his part, the Legislature as a whole, to celebrate in Haiti, in June 2013, this annual celebration of Caribbean heritage. "Haiti will be your hostess" he declared.

The Consul General had also attended, in May, to the work of the Legislative Assembly of New York State intended to adopt the resolution proclaiming May 16, 2012 "Haitian Unity Day" in New York.

The presence of the Consul General was of particular importance, since it was the first time in the annals of the Consulate General of Haiti in New York, that a Head of the Consulate was presented to the Legislature of the State of New York.
