Haiti - Economy : The «Caravan of investment» in Atlanta
The Consulate of Haiti in Atlanta informs the Haitian community and foreign of the State of Georgia, that Wednesday, June 27, 2012 will be held the first edition of "Haiti is Open for Business Caravan Conference (HOBCC), exclusively reserved for investors and entrepreneurs of our community (on invitation).

This conference will kick off discussions about business opportunities and the role of the Centre of Facilitation of Investment (Centre de Facilitation de l’Investissement - CFI) from 8am to 10:30am and will be moderated by the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Jorge Fernandez and the responsible for investments of the Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta Mr. Moise Garcon.

The participants in this caravan will be able to learn more about business and investments opportunities in various sectors such as, but not limited to, the following :

  • Tourism (construction of All-inclusive resorts, hotels, and revamping of our cultural and historical sites)
  • Manufacturing (exporting of our goods to USA, UE, Canada, Caribbean Basin duty free)
  • Energy
  • Health Services (hospitals and medical clinics)
  • Real estate (low and medium income housing)
  • Transport (air, sea, rail, and road transport infrastructure)
  • Technology (high-impact information and communication technology);
  • Poultry
  • Horticulture
  • Exportation of sea products and agricultural food-crop cultivation and processing.

Speakers at the conference will include: Karl Jean-Louis, Director of the Centre of Facilitation of Investment (CFI); Mr. Andy René, Presidential Advisory Council on Economic Development and Investment (CCPDEI); Mr Hervé Denis, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Haiti (CCIH); Mr. Henri-Claude Müller-Poitvien President of the Tripartite Commission for the implementation of the law Hope (CTMO-HOPE)...

Will also be present other distinguished guests, including Mayor Kasim Reed, Ceasar C. Mitchell President of the Atlanta City Council, a representative of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, and several other local leaders.
