Haiti - Security : Meeting of the CSPN

On Tuesday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, presided to the primature, a new meeting of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), to monitor and assess the steps already taken by the highest authorities involved in the issue of security, in order to establish a secure and stable environment in the country.

In this sense, the Head of Government has given clear instructions, so that the presence of traffic police is strengthened through the streets of the capital and on national roads. Other measures were also adopted to regulate traffic and take action against unruly and recalcitrant drivers.

On the other hand, a meeting must be conducted between those responsible of Traffic, and the General Tax Directorate (DGI) to discuss how to share revenue from fines.

The Prime Minister wants to strengthen the action taken by the Commander of the National Police as part of the implementation of instructions relating to the mechanisms : "point fixe" placed in front and around the Police stations of the metropolitan area of ​​Port-au-Prince. He was asked the Minister of Justice to ensure the monitoring of this issue.

The question of the appointment of a senior officer of the PNH, to ensure the Directorate of the security of VIPs, was also discussed during this meeting. In this regard, the records of several Divisional Commissioners, will be studied in order to see which of them has the best profile for this position.

The Supreme Council of the National Police (CSPN) has finally made ​​the commitment to make every effort to improve the security framework on the entire national territory.
