Haiti - Politic : Installation of 3 new vice-delegates in the South East 16/07/2012 19:43:18 The swearing in ceremony was held at the Court of First Instance of Jacmel in the presence of numerous personalities, including Edwin Daniel Zenny, the first Senator of South East, Pierre Michel Lafontant, the Departmental Delegate, Sagesse Ovilmar, Departmental Director of the Police of South East. In his speech, Me Adeline Dougé François, the Dean of the Court of First Instance of Jacmel who presided over the ceremony has reminded to the new Vice delegates, the difficult role they will occupy and the confidence that the Head of State has placed in them to accomplish their tasks. Stressing the project of opening of Government, of provinces and remote areas, which commits more the responsibility of the authorities and of local populations to take control of their own destiny. Me Adeline Dougé, wished that the experiences accumulated by newcomers guarantee the economic, social and cultural development of the population. For his part, Me Antoine Jean Férot, the Government Commissioner of the prosecution of Jacmel, has reminded to the new representatives of executive power, that they should pay constant attention on the administration of their district, ensure the proper functioning of state institutions and to the regular monitoring of them and invited the new Vice delegates, to work for the strengthening of the state while ensuring the full cooperation of the prosecution. After the ceremony of swearing, the authorities went to the premises of the Departmental Delegation of South East for the installions and speeches of circumstances. Pierre Michel Lafontant expressed the hope that the new Vice delegates will ensure the implementation of Government policy, by favoring the interests of the population in order to get out the people of Haiti from misery, in the sectors importants for the Head of State, such as education, the rule of law, environment, employment and energy as promised by President Martelly during his campaign. Jean Helson Royal, thanked the Government, particularly the President Martelly for the confidence placed in him to hold that office and promised to work to lead the country safely, in particular the district he represents. "I am committed firmly to mobilize all available resources to meet the needs of all entities of territorial collectivities of the four communes and its 23 communal sections, while aligning my actions with the Delegate at the level of the region."
