Three "Biblio Tap-Tap" [traditional vehicle of transportation, transformed into a library, thanks to Haitian artisans and volunteers of the United Nations] will be put into service between July 2012 and January 2013.

These mobile libraries will ride each month, the metropolitan area and the departments of North and of Centre to serve a number estimated to 5,000 children and adults. With a fund of 2,400 titles, Haitian and foreign, each "Biblio Tap-Tap" offer 400 books to each of its visits. "[...] There are many Haitians unemployed, young people who are truancy or people without work, sometimes homeless, the installation of the mobile library will create new reference points," said Ms. Mayerling Pierre, in charge of the program for BSF.

This program has received financial support from the European Union, the Digicel Haiti Foundation, the Institute of Franco-Caribbean Cooperation and Fokal. Stanley Joseph, the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture, who represented the Minister Mario Dupuy for the occasion, has proceeded to launching ceremony, in the presence of representatives of partner institutions and local authorities
