Haiti - Security : Second Part of exams for aspiring police officers

Under the Development Plan 2012-2012, of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), which plan the training of 16,000 police by 2016, over 25,000 candidates took part April 22, 2012, to the written test, constituting the first part of the selection process.

Almost 14,000 candidates (just over 50% of initial candidates) have successfully passed this step and were selected to pass the second part of the selection tests, which will be done in several groups.

The first group includes 5.072 candidates distributed as follows: West Region Port-au-Prince 3.732 or 74% including 771 women and 2.961 men. For the 9 other regions 1.340 candidates or 26% including 193 women and 1.147 men. Total distribution of candidates: 964 women (19%), 4.108 men (81%).

This second part of the selections, begins this Monday, July 23 for the region West and will continue until Tuesday, August 21. At a rate of 350 per day, candidates will undergo the first day, a series of physical tests (Cooper test, pull-ups, abs, traction on the parallel bars, etc...) The second day, an interview will be held for candidates who will have passed the physical tests. This step will take place with the participation of 35 United Nations police officers.

The aspiring police officers retained after this second part of the selection tests, will undergo a medical examination approximately one month later. Departmental heads of the Minustah, will be asked to participate in this second phase of recruitment.

The candidates finally selected will be the future workforce of the 24th, 25th 26th and promotions. Recall that the lists of candidates to pass this second part of the tests is displayed at the entrance of police stations.
