After his official visit to Cuba, Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, is in France since Wednesday for a visit which ends July 31, 2012. This is the first official of a member of the Haitian government led by Laurent Lamothe.

During his visit, the Minister Supplice will have amongst other meetings with Ms. Hélène Conway-Mouret, Minister for French nationals abroad and with Pascal Canfin, the Minister in charge of Development. These meetings will be an opportunity to recall the continuity of commitments of the French authorities with Haiti, as well as the strong contribution of the French community to the process of reconstructing of the country since January 2010.

These meetings will also allow to take stock on the French cooperation with Haiti, particular in the perspective of the forthcoming European joint programming (11th FED, 2014-2020), and on the impact of recent constitutional changes in Haiti and their implications on the Haitian community in France, strong of more than 60,000 members, in political life and the national development.
