Haiti - U20 Football : Our young Grenadiers are qualified !
Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the stadium "Bayamón Soccer Complex Stadium" (Puerto Rico), before over 2,000 spectators, the Haitian national team U20, Group C, which was facing the Puerto Rican team, in the last game of the first phase of qualifying for the World Cup U-20 of the FIFA 2013, has qualified on a tie (0-0), for the second round after its two successive victories [Haiti - Bermuda 3-0 and Haiti - Barbados: 2-0].

For this last match, the Haitian team was deprived of his Captain Capitaine Samuel Mardochée Pompée, because of accumulated errors, replaced by Horat Luckner of the Aigle noir. The team of Grenadiers in the field : Amincy Esso Frandelin - Augusma Wilberne - Charles Alexandre - Horat Luckner Junior - Jean Ismaël Voltaire - Johnley Chéry - Jude Saint-Louis - Marc Donald Mervil - Rinaldi Alphonse - Robenson Louis and Saturné Eltino Cadjy. Note that Fédé Dumy, did not play due to injury.

In the first half our young Grenadiers took possession of the game, mainly in the midfield, while the host country, seemed to have difficulties to implement specific attacks.

After the break, our young Grenadiers returned to the field with the evident intention of taking control of the game, creating numerous scoring opportunity, but without success. As we approach the 90th minute, in a rough game, nervousness and tension ran high among Puerto Ricans, who experienced their best chance to score against Haiti on a corner, whose shot was stopped spectacularly by Marc Donald, the keeper of our national team.

The tie, allowing the Grenadiers (U20) to take the first place in Group C with 7 points, tied with Puerto Rico, also qualified for the second round.

Recall that the U-20 Championship of the CONCACAF be held in Mexico from February 18 to March 2, 2013 and will serve as the qualifying tournament for the World Cup. The four first, will qualify directly for the World Cup U-20 of the FIFA 2013 in Turkey.
