Haiti - Sports : Marlena Wesh, will not participate to the qualifications of 200 meters

This Monday, August 6, 2012, in London as part of the 30th Olympic Games, Marlena Wesh [bib 2030], had to participate to the qualifications of 200 meters at the first race in lane #6 alongside of Ograzeanu Andreea of Romania, Kielbasinska Anna of Poland, Ahoure Murielle of Côte d'Ivoire, Udoh Christy of Nige, Ndikert Hinikissia Albertine of Chad, Adeoye Margaret of Great Britain, Fedoriva Aleksandra of the Russian Federation and Peter Allison of U.S. Virgin Islands.

Unfortunately, during the semifinals of the 400 meters, which took place on Saturday, Marlena Wesh injured her left heel. According to our sources, she suffers from tendinitis in the Achilles tendon [Achilles Tendonitis], making it impossible her participation to the qualifications of 200 meters women. For our young Haitian athlete, the London Olympics are over.

Recall that Marlena had qualified Friday for the semifinals of the 400 meters with a time of 51.98 seconds, coming third of her serie and 14th overall. Unfortunately, in the semi-finals on Saturday, Marlena came last of her serie with a time of 52.49 seconds, and 19th on 24 overall.
