Haiti - Politic : New acting Director-General, of the National Police, and more...

The President Michel Martelly, has appointed the Divisional Commissioner, Godson Orélus as acting Director-General, of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), pending the ratification of this choice by the Senate of the Republic. Mr. Orelus, formerly stationed in the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ), replaces Mario Andrésol whose term ends August 18, 2012.

Moreover, by order of the Prime Minister, dated August 14, 3 new Secretaries of State have been appointed, they are : Robert Labrousse appointed Secretary of State for External Cooperation ; Nixon Myrthil appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Guyler C. Delva appointed Secretary of State for Communication. Finally we just learn that Mr. Harold Bruno, Director General of Social Assistance Fund (Caisse d’Assistance Sociale - CAS) has been removed from office. Indeed, following some information received and verified, relating to the management of Mr. Harold Bruno during his time at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs in 2006, the President reversed his decision to make of Mr. Bruno the Director General of the CAS.
