Haiti - Energy : General mobilization to the EDH
Ms. Andress Appolon, the new Director General of the Electricity of Haiti has had a long work session Thursday and Friday with the Technical Direction of the institution to ensure the final preparations and mobilize all the resources of the institution to continue to serve the population during the passage of the storm, along with other state institutions.

Four technical teams have been mobilized and dispatched in the provinces including Les Cayes, while 8 other teams, are her to serve the metropolitan area. In the afternoon of Friday, the teams have conducted of activities of tree pruning, in wooded areas of the capital, to prevent all forms of incidents.

In addition, to ensure intergovernmental coordination, the Directorate General of the EDH put his technical team available to Civil Protection for preventive actions. These measures have been taken with the SMCRS for the removal of trees cut during the interventions of the EDH.

Additional orders of fuel and oil have been placed for the main power supply of the national network, among other Péligre and to Carrefour. In addition, the EDH closely monitors the rising of waters to the central Péligre to avoid the risk of flooding.

On the other hand, multiple phone lines were added to the Emergency Service in order to meet the needs of the population.

This measure has resulted in the decrease in the amount of electricity that would supply the metropolitan area.

Ms. Apollo then went to the electricity sub-station of Delmas 33, where engineers under the supervision of the Technical Director, Ing. Selony Wilson and Deputy Director Ing. Partick Michel Mathurin working hard to stabilize electricity and resolve problems due to outdated equipment.
