Haiti - Social : Meeting between the Government of Haiti and the GACI
A working session between the Haitian Government, represented by Laurent Lamothe, Prime Minister and Minister of Planning and External Cooperation and the Support Group of the International Community (GACI) was held Thursday, August 22, 2012, in the premises of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation in order to collect additional financial and material resources necessary for the proper management of potential risks related to the passage of Isaac.

The GACI is a strategic group of high level equipped with a coordination mechanism involving the Government and its key humanitarian partners and of international developments involved in the management activities and of reduction of natural hazards. The GACI, chaired by the Prime Minister, is one of the instances of support to the SNGRD.

The international community which has responded to the appeal of Government of Haiti, said it was satisfied with the preventive initiative of the authorities and took the opportunity to announce the funds available and the materials to be distributed throughout the national territory or even, those who can be mobilized immediately, according to the potential damage.
