Haiti - Social : The President Martelly concerned about the situation in the IDPs camps

The President Michel Martelly, remains concerned about the precarious situation of those who are still in IDPs camps. Formal instructions were passed to all state entities to provide relief to families affected by the passage of Isaac.

Friday, the Head of State, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, Ronsard Saint-Cyr, the Minister of the Interior, Guyler C. Delva, Secretary of State for Communication and of advisors, Gregory Mayard-Paul and Richard Morse, visited several camps in the metropolitan area whose that of "Megakat" to inquire about the living conditions of its citizens.

Despite their concerns, these people, who are waiting o be relocated, did not hide their joy to see the President and the Prime Minister, directly involved in the prevention and management of the situation.

The Head of State then went, always accompanied by the Prime Minister and the Minister of the Interior, at the Lycée Jean Marie Vincent in Tabarre, a shelter of about 2,000 people. He also met Serge Auguste, the mayor of Tabarre, who informed him of the measures taken to ensure the safety of the population, and Mr. Luca Dalloglio, Organization for Migration (IOM) Haiti Chief of Mission, a partner institution involved in the establishment of structures to protect the population, together with the mayor of this town and civil protection.

During this visit, the President Martelly has also met with the Commissioner Godson Orélus, Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), which has informed the President of the measures taken to ensure the safety of lives and goods of the population.

The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister who visited Turgeau, where they made ​​a distribution of food kits, renew their commitment to serve the people of Haiti.
