Mr. Klaus Eberwein, Director General of Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES), which reiterates its commitment to strengthen his fight against the extreme poverty advocated by the Government Martelly-Lamothe, has proceeded yesterday Monday at the delivering of 30 houses to vulnerable families in Zoranje. This partial distribution is part of the response of Government Martelly/Lamothe to house people displaced by the earthquake of 12 January 2010 and to improve the living conditions of Haitian citizens.

Thanks to a funding from the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) to the tune of 30 million U.S. dollars, FAES has completed the construction of 400 modern housing. These houses are intended to vulnerable families in exchange of a monthly contribution of 2,000 Gourdes over a period of 5 years.

The Fund of Economic and Social Assistance intervenes in the fields of the Education, Health, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Nutrition, Micro-finance, Environment, Transport and local Governance.
