Haiti - Security : Delivery of a fire truck for the firefighters of Croix-des-Bouquets
The International Firefighters Assistance (IFA) will present Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 am, a fire truck to the firefighters of the Volunteer Emergency Service of Croix-des-Bouquets. This Mack fire engine, which is named "Engine 22", will be the first fire suppression vehicle in the history of Croix-des-Bouquets.

This utility vehicle, granted to IFA is a courtesy of Florham Park Fire Department in New Jersey. It will also provide a tremendous relief to the Port-au-Prince firefighters, which is currently the only municipal fire rescue facility in the entire capital.

The Croix-des-Bouquets Volunteer Emergency Service was initiated in 2010 by local citizens who were determined to make a change in protecting their community. Prior to the launch of this project, there was no other emergency response service in the area.

In a statement, Nate Lasseur, Founder/President of IFA, thanks all those who contributed to this project and hope that this truck will encourage all Haitians, both in Haiti as well as abroad, to get involved in the development of our beloved homeland.
