The Administrative Committee of the Group of nine, has officially launched a festival since the beginning of this week on the theme "Roussan Camille and Latin America." This activity aims to honor the memory of the poet and writer of Jacmel, Roussan Camille born August 27, 1912.

At a press conference, which was held in the premises of the School of Music Dessaix Baptiste of Jacmel, the organizers have announced a series of events such as : Music festival, literary competitions, conferences and debates on Roussan Camille, races, exhibitions and others, whose the final phase will be held on 7, 8 and 9 December 2012, in the of Roussan Camille, in the town of Cayes-Jacmel, date that brings the anniversary of the death of the writer, December 7, 1961.

Toussaint Jh. Franck, the General Coordinator of the Group, stated that the initiative aims both to better know the Haitian people and enhance the work that Roussan Camille has done on Haitian history around the world, particularly in Latin America and on the other hand to enhance the values ​​within the community and find other talents. Toussaint Franck, has said to note a loss of the values ​​for several years in Haiti, especially among young people.

For his part, Estiverne Louis Jeune, Deputy Coordinator of the Group urged all sectors without distinction, to come and participate in this event, especially the youth of Jacmel. He indicated that several personality of the community will be honored for their contribution to the progress of Haiti.

Archemetre Ersile Félix, at the end of the conference, summarized the course of Roussan Camille, on the literary plan and his passage in the Haitian press, as Editor and Director of several newspapers and magazines where he has be able to validly represent Haiti through various countries in the world.
