Monday in Laffiteau, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, participatedat the plant "Les Moulins d'Haiti", at the launch of the census of enterprises commercial and industrial at the national level, organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

"Everyone recognizes the importance of such an activity that brings us together this morning. This is the launch of the census project of enterprises throughout the territory of the Republic. This is a necessary precondition for any policy to support the development of entrepreneurship in Haiti. I especially want to thank the Board of Directors of 'Moulins d'Haïti' to have open their doors to start the project, and to congratulate the Minister of Trade and Industry for this initiative," declared the Head of Government, who recalled his concerns and those of the President of the Republic, in favor of a greater policy focused on the creation of jobs.

The Prime Minister emphasized on the necessity of the establishment of a policy of support to productive investment, to the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), to the supervision and promotion of private sector, in order to better address the issue of employment.

"Today, more than 80% of economic activity in the country are in the informal sector," indicated the Head of Government, who estimated that this sector is for the national economy a major issue, which must necessarily be taken into account in all development policies of the country.

"These provisions should enable the Government to take appropriate measures for the dynamization of the entrepreneurship in the country."

Laurent Lamothe, remains convinced that the development of the country must necessarily pass through the stimulation of the entrepreneurial sector and undertakes at the same time to put all its weight into the balance, to encourage public institutions to play their role in this regard.
