Haiti - Sports : Samuel Dalembert keeps his promise

Following his visit to Haiti, June 10, 2011, Samuel Dalembert, American basketball of Haitian origin [Sacramento Kings] of the NBA (National Basketball Association) had committed to build a sports complex in Haiti, on this occasion, he declared at the National Palace in the presence of President Michel Martelly "This will be a center where young people can combine sport and studies"

On September 15, 2012 at 12 pm, the first Samuel Dalembert Academy in Marmont, Central Plateau, will be inaugurated, built in conjunction with Project Medishare, will be the first of its kind in the country, offering top-caliber academic instruction and athletic training to young people in the Central Plateau, including basketball, soccer, volleyball and baseball. This flagship Academy will be followed by similar facilities throughout Haiti.

Samuel, representatives from his Foundation and Project Medishare, and members of the local government, church and community organizations will be in attendance to support the project.
