Haiti - Politic : «There is no crisis that remains without solution» (dixit Martelly)

Back home, the President Michel Martelly, who has returned to work immediately, gave an update on the situation regarding the Permanent Electoral Council and the upcoming elections. Aware of the situation and problems, he nevertheless remains optimistic about the outcome of the crisis, although it is now clear that elections will not be held before the end of the year "[...] The Executive does everything what it should do, to move towards the elections, so if there is a problem today [...] we will continue to consult with the different stakeholders to see how we can find a solution [...]

The real problem is the Senate, which sent a letter to the executive to say that it is in the material impossibility , to designate the members of the CEP. Now that the Senate said that, we will sit [...] I'm in retreat with the senators this weekend and I met the majority of the House of Representatives at the end of this week to see how we can move forward. Concerning of elections by the end of the year, the President Martelly is aware that their organization and materially impossible "Certainly not, if we talk about elections now, today [...] it is not Michel Martelly, who set up a Permanent Electoral Council, this is a CEP that is born with the amendments [of the Constitution], with the electoral law. Now, once the CEP is complete, it will be responsible for organizing the elections [...]

It is true that there will be another one-third of the Senate, that will reach the end of its mandate [early 2015] but we can do only what we can do [...] trying to find solutions, but in the meantime, the Earth continues to turn [...] there is no crisis that remains without solution, especially when everyone has an interest in the elections. At the level of the opposition, for example, when their term is over, these people will need the elections to be re-elected [...]

I remain optimistic. There were doubts about the appointment of 3 representatives of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), but today, the CSPJ tries to improve its image [...] they move forward, it takes time. We follow the process, but we can not be pessimistic [...] In politics, when there are major issues to to manage, must remain calm, patient, tolerant to provide solutions to problems..."
