Haiti - Health : Construction of a $14 million hospital in Gonaïves 12/10/2012 11:59:15
With an area of 10.380 m2 and a capacity of 200 beds. The new Hospital will have as vocation the care to mothers and children. It will include : 4 blocks of hospitalization, a surgical unit, a maternity, intensive care unit, particularly for newborns, emergency services, laboratory and pharmacy, among others. It is also planned the construction of outbuildings, including a chapel, housing for medical staff and a "women's house" to accommodate pregnant women, as well as a "waiting village" for people who accompany patients. The construction period is estimated at 18 months and the new hospital is scheduled to open in 2014.
