Haiti - Politic : Important American representation in Caracol (Audio Speech)
The President Michel Martelly, proceeded, Monday, Oct. 22, at the official opening of the largest industrial park of the Caribbean, the North Industrial Park in Caracol in the presence [among others], of many American personalities : former U.S. President William J. Clinton, Hillary Clinton U.S. Secretary of State, Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Inter-American Bank, Hilda Solis, U.S. Secretary of Labor, and Kenneth Merten, the former U.S. Ambassador to Haiti.

Speech by former U.S. President Bill Clinton :
"[...] I'll start by saying thank you to President Martelly and the Haitian Government, in respect to the support of the moment, and to have opened the country to business [...] we say you thank you very much, to President Préval, who believed in this project at the beginning [...] we have continued with the Government Martelly, who has started to decentralize the economy [...] the decentralization is an opportunity for the economy you can not put all your resources in one place, because there are Haitians throughout the country.

This park will not only create a lot of jobs, but it will be really an opportunity for the region in terms of economy and decentralization [...] I want to thank the Secretary [Hillary Clinton], who agreed to come today [...] I want to say thank you to IDB President [...] without his leadership and responsibility, we would not be here today [...] I want to say thank you to Sae-A [one of the largest South Korean apparel manufacturing in the world], which already employ 1,000 people and will employ 500 others, by the end of the year and possibly up to 20,000 in the future [...] I say thank you to the Government [...] it is thanks to you that my wife was able to land at Cap Haitien today, I say thank you for the road you have finished [...] I say thank you to all those who are here and who want to use all the possibilities that exist, in relation to manufacturing capacity [...] I know that you would not have done it without the support of the United States [...] I thank you all and God bless you..."

"[...] There's less than a year, we accompanied the President Martelly and President Clinton here in Caracol to lay the first stone of the Industrial Park [...] they saw that it was a good development for northern Haiti [...] then [...] we began to build the largest industrial park in the Caribbean, we say that it is a beautiful dream. Less than a year later, the Industrial Park has become a reality [...] the work with a salary, will start to put much money into the local economy, which will bring more food on the table of families, more children will be able to go to school [...]"

"[...] This is a tremendous honor for me to be here today to celebrate a progress in Haiti, with three Presidents [Martelly, Préval Clinton] [...] I want to start by saying thank you to President Martelly for his leadership, his vision, and his love for his country [...] we have with us, the former President Préval [...] which had the vision of this project [...] I want to say thank you to the third president who is there [...] it is a pleasure to be here with my husband, who is still working very hard for Haiti, to help Haiti develop, because he believes a lot in Haiti, he believes in you [...] we want to thank Sae-A, which took a decision, which was a risk [...] But they really brought their expertise and commitment to Haiti and we say thank you to them for their leadership [...]"
