The Directorate General of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH) is mobilized in order to repair the damaged circuits in the metropolitan area after the passage of Sandy. 24 of the 32 circuits of the metropolitan area were shut down pending the inspection of the technical teams dispatched on the ground.

8 teams work simultaneously to record the anomalies and quickly remedied before restoring power. Thursday morning, 18 of the 24 circuits switched off network have already been repaired in order to satisfy the population located in the zones of : Christ-roi, Nazon, Lalue, Road of Clercine, Airport, Pacot, Turgeau, Carrefour-Feuilles, Croix-des-Missions, Road of Santo, Bon Repos, Lilavois, Boulevard Saline, Road Malpasse, Center of Petionville and Morne Calvaire, Pèlerin, Laboule, Bourtilliers, and the Nationale Road #1.

For the 6 other circuits off-grid the teams of the EDH are hard at work to regulate the situation by Saturday, October 27, 2012. The Directorate General of the EDH asking people, when finding anomalies (broken poles, broken cables, electric shock, etc...) free to contact the emergency service of the company immediately so that effective and rapid response can be given.
