Haiti - Energy : Temporary decrease of hours of electricity

The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) informs that within the framework of the modernization of its network, in accordance with its action plan 2012-2013, the EDH is currently doing rehabilitation work on the network of the substation of Canapé-Vert whose the current capacity of 33 megawatts, will be increased to 60 MW in order to facilitate a power supply more efficient of the surrounding population.

Because of this important work, the inhabitants of zones of Road of Frère, Péguy ville, Pétion-Ville, Morne Calvaire, Montagne Noire, Malique, Gros Jean, Canapé-Vert, Bois Verna, Christ Roi, Bois Patate, Morne Hercule, will undergo a reduction in hours of power, which are usually 14 to 18 hours per day, which will be reduced to 12 hours per day, from November 5, 2012 to Monday, November 12, 2012.

The Electricity of Haiti counts on the collaboration and understanding of the Haitian population.
