Haiti - Justice : The ULCC investigation confirms the existence of a network of counterfeiters to the CAS
The investigation of the Unit for Combating Corruption (ULCC), initiated in June, at the request of the former Director of the Caisse d'Assistance Sociale (CAS), Hérold Israël, just ended and allowed the identification of a network of counterfeiters responsible for the theft and diversion of 135 checks, for a total of 135,000 gourdes.

Counterfeiters imitate the signature of the former Director of the institution, the checks were made ​​payable to various beneficiaries and debited of account of the CAS, managed by the Treasury, to finish on the account of an usurer... The latter, as well as 4 public servants, involved in this network of criminals, were interviewed by investigators of the ULCC, which will now give the results of its investigation to justice, so that the police can carrying out the arrests of individuals involved.

The former Colonel Antoine Atouriste, Director General of the ULCC, noted that it was recurrent cases, which were not limited to the CAS, indicating that several investigations relating to other cases of corruption and counterfeit networks, which operate in various public institutions, were ongoing. Not to interfere with the investigation, the names of those involved in the network of the CAS, were not disclosed.
